Nidaros Cathedral - Trondheim (1976)

Nidaros Cathedral is the national sanctuary of Norway. Pilgrims seek to this cathedral erected over the place where Saint Olav was buried.

The carillon is the result of two persons love for this cathedral. The will of the Norwegian American Jens Andreas Paasche resulted in USD 10 000. One day Sigrun Woje Ellingsen met the travelling carillon on it’s way from the Saint Olav Festival. She stopped and asked about the instrument. Ole Christian Olsen Nauen explained his purpose of visiting the festival. Hearing that the cathedral did not have a carillon of it’s own, she started the quest to complete Paasche’s dream.
